Teepee Project

Posted in News, Video & Animation, Weird Projects by dyanagray on August 22, 2009

The Teepee Project was a collaboration with artist, Thomas Morison. The project was a site specific happening, part of a one-night-only exhibition held at the Northcote Uniting Church in Melbourne. We chose to exhibit outside the church. Erecting the Teepee was an important part of the project, as was the dismantling, and we invited people to help us.

The structure was made from paper cello tape, and steel rods. We installed a lamp inside the teepee when it was erected, fueled by the church’s power. It was warm and cosy! When drawings were made on the inside, they appeared on the outside too. We provided coloured pens and invited people to decorate our teepee with us, many drawings were made.
